As it was noted at the 18th session of the Tajikistan-Russia intergovernmental commission for trade and economic cooperation, 902 seats will be allocated for Tajik students next year.  They will have an opportunity to study at universities in Russia at the expense of the budget of the Russian Federation.

The Russian Ministry of Science and Higher Education says the 18th session of the Tajikistan-Russia intergovernmental commission for trade and economic cooperation took place in Dushanbe on November 9 and the parties reportedly evaluated positively the results of the work to ensure the admission of Tajik citizens to Russia universities during the 2021-2022 academic year within the quota set by the Russian government.

It was noted that the Russian government has allocated 750 seats for Tajik students for the 2021-2022 academic year, which was 105 seats more than in the previous academic year.

For the next 2023-2024 academic year, the Russian Government has reportedly planned 902 student quotas for Tajikistan.

Among the Tajik students, the most demanded areas are economics, software engineering, medicine and management.
