The 12th Dushanbe International Book Fair took place at the National Museum of Tajikistan last week.
Khovar news agency reports that this year, more than 40 publishers presented more than 5,000 titles of their newly published books in the fields of fiction, children’s literature, scientific, historical, philosophical, cultural and sociological works at the fair.
In addition to more than 30 domestic publishers, publishers and writers from the People’s Republic of China, the Islamic Republic of Iran, Russia, Turkiye, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and India participated in this year’s edition of the Dushanbe International Book Fair, putting on display the best examples of books from their publishing institutions.
Thus, Iranian media reports say Iran’s pavilion at the fair has presented 300 titles in the fields of classic and modern literature (prose and poetry), Persian language and handwriting training, children and young adults, history, and Tajik poets’ books published in Iran.
IRNA and Kayhan International say the opening ceremony was attended by the deputy culture minister of Tajikistan and mayor of Dushanbe as well as ambassadors of Iran, Saudi Arabia, and Russia.
By Tajik government’s decision this exhibition has been held in Dushanbe annually since 2010.
