An accident at the "Nav" high-voltage substation caused a power outage in parts of Dushanbe on the evening of December 19.

The Open Joint-Stock Company (OJSC) Power Distribution Network of Dushanbe confirmed that areas affected included the 103rd neighborhood, Profsouznaya Street, the 33rd neighborhood, and parts of Zarafshon residential area.

An official source within the Dushanbe Power Distribution Network said the issue had been resolved by specialists in about 23–24 minutes.

However, the source did not specify the exact cause of the accident, noting only that a task force has been established to investigate the incident.

Meanwhile, social media reports indicated that outage that occurred at around 8:00 PM extended beyond these areas, affecting Shohmansour district and other central areas until nearly 10:00 PM.

Witnesses described voltage drops followed by a complete blackout.  Some homes experienced damage to appliances due to voltage surges.

Recurring power shortages during cold seasons have been a persistent issue in Dushanbe, with outages lasting up to 3–4 hours even in central districts.
