The Kremlin reports that Vladimir Putin and Emomali Rahmon yesterday participated via video link in the ceremonial start of construction of the International Educational Center for Gifted Children and a new building for the State Russian Drama Theater named after Vladimir Mayakovsky in Tajikistan’s capital, Dushanbe.
During the videoconference, which took place in in hall of the Kremlin Palace, Putin and Rahmon reportedly gave the command to lay the foundation capsules for the construction of these cultural landmarks.
The Russian president thanked the participants of the telebridge for the work already done and wished them success.
The Tajik president’s official website says Majlisi Milli (Tajikistan’s upper chamber of parliament) Speaker Rustam Emomali, who is also the Mayor of Dushanbe, and the Deputy Prime Minister of Tajikistan, Ms. Dilrabo Mansouri, reported on the preparations for the ceremony from the construction sites.
The foundation stones for the construction of the State Russian Drama Theater named after Vladimir Mayakovsky and the International Educational Center for Gifted Children in Dushanbe were reportedly laid by Rustam Emomali and other responsible persons from both sides.
According to the Kremlin, both projects are being implemented under the directives of the presidents of Russia and Tajikistan and hold great significance for the development of bilateral cultural cooperation, expanding the effective partnership between the two countries.
