Monuments to the Hissar ram and taifi pink grapes will appear in Gissar at the turn of the Almosi Gorge, symbolizing the unique agricultural heritage of Tajikistan.

According to NIAT Khovar, with reference to the chairman of Hissar Jabbor Nosirzoda, the initiative is timed to coincide with an important event: the Almosi gorge itself, the Hissar sheep breed and the taifi pink variety are included in the prestigious list of the "World Agricultural Heritage System" (GIAHS) of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO).

So far, only 12 facilities in five countries Andorra, Austria, Italy, Spain and Portugal - have had GIAHS status in Europe and Central Asia. Almosi became the thirteenth facility and the first in the Asian region and the CIS.

According to Chairman Gissar, an international scientific conference dedicated to the breeding of the Gissar sheep breed and the expansion of the Taifi pink vineyards will be held in this area in September this year.

The Hissar sheep, the largest in the world, is bred in the Hissar Valley and is known for its massive tail and endurance. Today, the Hissar breed is bred not only in Tajikistan, but also in other countries of Central Asia and the CIS.

It should be noted that a monument to the Hissar ram is already standing on the side of the DushanbeTursunzade highway in the Shurobi Iskandar area. It was established in 2023 on the initiative of the executive body of the city of Hissar.
