DUSHANBE, January 4, 2013, Asia-Plus -- The 46th Annual Meeting Asian Development Bank (ADB)’s Board Governors will take place at the India Expo Mart Limited in Greater Noida, about 50 kilometers outside Delhi, India from May 2-3 this year.

According to press release issued by ADB, the theme of the 2013 Annual Meeting is development through empowerment.  Seminars will discuss ideas for financing Asia’s cities; innovations in generating “good” jobs; disaster risk reduction; promoting public services; emphasizing the role of science, technology and innovation in Asia’s growth; financing infrastructure; and building greater south-south cooperation.

About 4,000 participants including finance ministers, central bank governors, senior government officials, and representatives from the private sector, academe, media, and civil society are expected to attend the 2013 Annual Meeting in India.

ADB''s Annual Meetings allow Governors from ADB member countries to provide guidance on ADB administrative, financial, and operational directions.  The meeting also provides opportunities for member governments to interact with ADB staff, non-government organizations, media, and representatives of observer countries, international organizations, academe, and the private sector.

Annual meetings are held in a member country in late April or early May.
