Russian media reports say Russia’s Investigative Committee (IC) Alexander Bastrykin has suggested revoking Russian citizenship of migrants who refuse to participate in Russia's war against Ukraine.
A video message from IC Head Alexander Bastrykin was posted on the Investigative Committee’s official website yesterday.
“While a special military operation is underway, I think it is necessary to involve them (migrants) in conducting a special military operation. If you are not ready, as a citizen of the Russian Federation, to fulfill your military duty, a decision must be made to deprive such a person of citizenship,” Bastrykin said in comments cited by Interfax.
Bastrykin reportedly further noted that it would be advisable to provide for a procedure of mandatory receipt of the Russian SIM card from the moment a migrant enters Russia with the obligatory use of it when creating a personal account on the State Services portal.
