A student of the Medical University faced ill-treatment by policemen in Dushanbe.
In Dushanbe, two police officers - the head of the public order department of the capital's Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Somoni district and the district inspector were fired for extortion and blackmail on their part against a citizen of Finland, reports the Civil Society Coalition against Torture and Impunity on its website.
It is noted that on November 17, 2021, a student of the Tajik Medical University, a citizen of Finland, applied to the coalition for legal assistance.
He reported that he faced ill-treatment by the above-named police officers.
«On October 20, 2021, these two police officers broke into his rented apartment without any reason and began to film the Finnish citizen himself and the girl who was visiting him, threatening that they would post this video on the Internet and create problems for the young man and his girl. A citizen of Finland tried to stand up for a girl who was hit by police several times, but they demanded 1 thousand dollars from him. In the end, the guy gave them 300 dollars and 1880 somoni, and the next morning he turned to the Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the city of Dushanbe with a complaint about the illegal actions of police officers», - noted in the message.
On November 11, 2021, the applicant received an answer from the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the city of Dushanbe that these police officers were relieved of their positions for humiliating the honor and dignity of a Finnish citizen.
