In the meantime, Asia-Plus has failed to get information about a number of Tajik children suffering from cancer diseases.  According to information from the children’s department within the Republican Oncology Center , at present 22 children are undergoing medical treatment at the Center.

Asadullo Zaripov, Head Physician of the Republican Oncology Center , has told Asia-Plus that 110 children have been hospitalized in the Center since the beginning of the year.  In Tajikistan , little oncology patients mainly suffer from leucosis, kidney and eye cancers, according to him.

Zaripov has stressed that their little patients need expensive medical treatment while the Center’s funds are not enough to provide them with such a treatment.  On the assistance provided to the Center, Asadullo Zaripov says it happens very rarely, noting that there have been actions conducted by the Project “HOPE” and the UNDP Country Office in Tajikistan .
