The ruling party Ak Zhol has nominated the incumbent president Kurmanbek Bakiev to run for the upcoming presidential election on July 23, 2009. All party members supported the candidacy with their votes.
“I highly appreciate support of my colleagues who have faith in me. From my personal experience I know that being a president is a serious and energy-consuming work,” Bakiev said.
In the president’s opinion his nomination is a great responsibility and he takes this step as a right to take part in an honest competition for the president’s post, the main mission of which is to improve life of every citizen of the country.
