For the first time since Russia launched invasion of Ukraine, Kazakhstan has voted against UN’s resolution demanding Russia stop military aggression and withdraw all its military forces from the territory of Ukraine, Klopp.kz reported on December 17.
The UN General Assembly has condemned Russia’s actions ”to use Crimea for the purpose of aggression against Ukraine and an attempt of illegal seizure of Kherson and Zaporozhye regions.”
The resolution also demands that the Russia Federation immediately stop the military invasion of Ukraine and unconditionally withdraw all its armed forces from the territory of Ukraine.
82 countries have voted for adoption of the resolution “Violation of Human Rights in Crimea and Sevastopol”, 14 countries, including Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, China, Iran, North Korea, Syria and some others, have voted against it and 80 countries have abstained from voting.
The UN General Assembly reportedly considered the resolution on December 15.
