Kazakhstan's Ministry of Labor has set quotas for attracting foreign labor in 2025.

Zakon.kz says the quotas are: 0.2% of the workforce for employer permits issued by local authorities; and 3.0% for labor migrants in domestic work.

The quotas will take effect on January 17, 2025.

In 2024, quotas were reportedly set at 0.23% (22,000 units) for employer permits and 3.1% (271,300 units) for domestic work.

Kazakhstan remains the second-most popular destination for Tajik labor migrants after the Russian Federation.
