DUSHANBE , March 20, Asia-Plus - Tajik borer troops jointly with officers from the Interior Ministry department for combating drug trafficking (drug police) have warded off an attempt t by Afghan drug traffickers to smuggle a large amount of drugs via the Farkhor stretch of the Tajik-Afghan border. 

According to information from the Tajik border service, the drug trafficker was detained when he was trying to illegally cross the border near the village of Qizil-Su in the Farkhor district Saturday [March 18] morning.  The detainee proved to be the 20-year-old Afghan citizen Amonullo valadi Rahmatullo.  

            Four sacks containing heroin and cannabis were confiscated from him.  Investigation is under way.
