TB-OSI/AF supports improvement of professional skills of young Tajik journalists

, May 15, Asia-Plus - On Monday May 15, Tajik Branch of Open Society Institute/Assistance Foundation (TB-OSI/AF) is distributing some 2,000 books on journalism to faculties of journalism at
Tajikistan
’s higher educational institutions and NGOs dealing with media issues.
The books are being distributed to faculties and departments of journalism at
Tajik
National
University
,
Khorog
University
,
Khujand
University
,
Russian-Tajik
Slavic
University
,
Kulob
University
as well as information centers for journalists in
Dushanbe
and other regions of the country.
According to information from the TB-OSI/AF, this action is conducted under the “Mass Media” Program aimed at supporting improvement of professional skills of journalists, development of management of media, and improvement of legal foundation for functioning of media and establishment of independent media.
Within the framework of this action a book on international standards of journalism by Eduard Poletayev and journalist’s legal handbook by Umrillo Melikov were presented.
The textbooks on all directions of journalism worth US$6,000 have been purchased in the
Russian Federation
