DUSHANBE, May 19, Asia-Plus -- On Thursday may 18, Germany’s Embassy in Dushanbe handed over special equipment and tools (totaling 28 items) to the Tajik Drug Control Agency (DCA), which could be used by Tajik drug control officers in countering narcotics, according to information from the DCA.   

The DCA source has told Asia-Plus that German Ambassador to Tajikistan Rainer Muller handed over the technical assistance to the DCA. 

On the sidelines of the equipment-handover ceremony German Ambassador met with the DCA Director Rustam Nazarov.  Their talks focused on achievement of Tajikistan in countering smuggling of drugs from Afghanistan, according to the source.  Rustam Nazarov briefed German diplomat on the present drug situation in the region.  Mr. Muller also familiarized himself with activities of some sub-divisions of the Agency, the source said.
