DUSHANBE, June 1, Asia-Plus - Director of Russia’s Security Service (FSB) Nikolai Patrushev and the FSB Deputy Director also the head of Russian border service Vladimir Pronichev are arriving in Dushanbe today afternoon for working visit.  

According to information from the Ministry of Security, Patrushev will preside over the 20 th three-day meeting of the council of the CIS heads of security and special service that will open in Dushanbe on June 2.  

The meeting is aiming consider a number of issues related to organizational-practical events aimed at further expansion of interaction between the CIS security and special services in fighting international terrorism as well as cooperation with international and regional antiterrorist organizations.  Besides, participants at the meeting also will discuss further expansion of cooperation between the security and special services in strengthening of security of the CIS states and addressing modern challenges and threats, according to the source.  The meeting is also supposed to work out measures to enhance interaction between the CIS security services in detecting members of international terrorist organizations, and discovering their training bases and channels of financing of their activities.   

According to information from the Russian border service’s directorate in Tajikistan , Russian border service chief Vladimir Pronichev will take part in an official ceremony of reorganization of the Russian Border Force in Tajikistan into the Russian Border Operational Group that will be held in Dushanbe today afternoon.  Mikhail Orekhov, adviser to the Russian border service’s directorate in Tajikistan , has told Asia-Plus that the Russian Border Operational Group in Tajikistan will consist of 281 officers,

As it had been reported earlier, under the bilateral agreement that was signed on October 16, 2004 , an operational group of the Federal Security Service will stay in Tajikistan to perform advisory functions, provide assistance to Tajik border guards in the effective border patrolling and training of the young generation of border guards.
