Tajikistan’s State Medical University to accept 70 foreign students this year

Tajikistan
’s State Medical intends to accept 70 foreign students this year.
According to Said Qurbonov, Pro-rector of Tajik State Medical University for Studies, 162 foreign students, mainly from
Syria
,
India
and
Pakistan
, have to date studied at
Tajik
Medical
University
.
“All in al, our University intends to accept 715 freshmen this year,” said Mr. Qurbonov, “of them, 265 will study on a contractual basis and 80 students will study by presidential quota.”
At present more than 4,500 students are studying various medical disciplines, surgery, and stomatology, at
Tajik
State
Medical
University
.
According to Said Qurbonov, payments for studying at
Tajik
State
Medical
University
on fluctuates from US$525 to US$700 for domestic students (depending on the departments) and payments for foreign students amount to US$1,500.
The
Medical
University
pro-rector has also told Asia-Plus that Tajik medical students are sent for studying to other countries as well. “Foe example,
Iran
has invited three Tajik students to study at Iranian medical higher institutions, but since the language of training is English, we have managed to sent only one student,” Said Qurbonov said.
