DUSHANBE, November 22, Asia-Plus -- Tajikistan has confirmed its participation in the World Exhibition EXPO-2010 that will be held in Shanghai in 2010, from October 1 to October 31, Tajikistan’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) said.
The theme of Exopo-2010 in Shanghai is Better City, Better Life. The city is a crystallization of human civilization. Just as the American social philosopher Lewis Munford put it, "the city is a special structure which, fine and compact, has been designed to preserve the fruits of human civilization." By virtue of its embracing and regenerating nature, the city has played a significant role in the perfection of order in human society
70 million people are expected to visit Expo-2010 in Shanghai. The Exposition will be the first registered World Exposition in a developing country, which gives expression to the expectations the world''s people place on China''s future development.
The World Expo is a large-scale, global, non-commercial Expo. The hosting of the World Expo must be applied for by a country and approved by the international World Expo committee. Expo aims to promote the exchange of ideas and development of the world economy, culture, science and technology, to allow exhibitors to publicize and display their achievements and improve international relationships. Accordingly, the World Expo with its 150-year history is regarded as the Olympic Games of the economy, science and technology.
