DUSHANBE, April 27, Asia-Plus - Labor migration in Tajikistan, related to problems and achievements will be discussed at the meeting that is opening in Dushanbe today morning.
Aleksandr Sodiqov, Senior Press and Public Information Assistant, OSCE Center in Dushanbe, said that the event, organized by the OSCE Center in Dushanbe in co-operation with the Tajik Public Council, has brought together about 70 representatives of state authorities, political parties, NGOs, national minorities, international agencies and academic institutions.
According to him, participants in the event are discussing issues related to the progress that Tajikistan has made in the regulation of labor migration and will discuss ways to further improve protection of Tajik labor migrants* rights.
Speakers at the event include Karomatullo Olimov, State Adviser to the President of Tajikistan for Social Development and Public Relations, Frank Johansen, Political Officer of the OSCE Center in Dushanbe, Bess Brown, Economic Officer of the OSCE Center in Dushanbe, Sharifa Usmonova, Deputy Head of Migration Service at the Ministry of Interior, and Bahriddin Jabborov, Director of State Agency for Social Protection, Employment and Migration.
The event is part of an OSCE-supported forum for dialogue between the authorities and civil society entitled Social Partnership Club.
