DUSHANBE, February 13, 2012, Asia-Plus  -- International money transfer system, UNISTREAM, has reportedly extended its money transfer services in Tajikistan.

Henceforth, the company’s services are available in all branches of the microfinance deposit-taking institution (MDI) “Matin.”

“Remittances are available in Russian rubles, dollars and euros, Olga Skorokhodova, an official with UNISTREAM, noted.

In Tajikistan, the UNISTREAM money transfer network reportedly cooperates with 14 financial institutions.  A total number of UNISTREAM’s service outlets in Tajikistan is now 700:  142 outlets are located in Dushanbe; 41 are located in Khujand; and Qurghon Teppa, Isfara and Panjakent have 25 UNISTREAM’s service outlets each.

By January 1, 2012, the company’s money turnover in Tajikistan has reportedly increased to 375 million U.S. dollars.

Meanwhile, 362 million U.S. dollars were remitted from Russia to Tajikistan via the UNISTREAM system in 2011 and 18.8 million U.S. dollars were remitted from Russia to Tajikistan via this system last month.

UNISTREAM COMMERCIAL BANK (JSC) is registered in Russia as a Banking Institution licensed by the Central Bank of Russia to provide money transfer business.
