The Closed Joint-Stock Company (CJSC) NBP Pakistan Subsidiary Bank has terminated its activities in Tajikistan. 

According to the press center of the National Bank of Tajikistan (NBT), the NBT revoked the operating license of the CJSC NBP Pakistan Subsidiary Bank in Tajikistan on the basis of a request from this Bank for voluntary liquidation.  

The NBT press center notes that in accordance with a decision made by the Supervisory Board of the National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) on the international commercial transactions strategy, the NBP subsidiaries in Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan have also terminated their activities.  

Meanwhile, a notice released by the NBP Pakistan Subsidiary Bank says that by decision of the Board of Directors of the National Bank of Pakistan, a decision has been taken to terminate activities in Tajikistan in the near future. “In this regard, we kindly ask you to close your existing accounts in the Branch until April 15, 2021.”

“The Branch closure is associated with its voluntary liquidation, moreover, the financial position is quite stable. The Branch has enough liquidity to fully meet its obligations and settle accounts with all depositors” the notice says. 

CJSC NBP Pakistan Subsidiary Bank got a license to carry out operations in Tajikistan on March 20, 2012.
