KHOROG, March 12, 2009, Asia-Plus - One person was injured Wednesday morning as rockfall crashed into Chinese-made minivan in Khorog, Gorno Badakhshan.
The accident took place in the Chinak area of the city. The minivan driver received various injuries and was taken to the regional hospital.
According to the GBAO police directorate, it is the first rockfall in the region over the past two years. The last rockfall occurred in Gorno Badakhshan in March 2007. The rockfall crashed into the fixed-route taxi on the highway from Khorog to Dushanbe. One person was killed in that rockfall.
