DUSHANBE, September 10, 2009, Asia-Plus -- Three persons were killed and two others were injured on Tuesday as a sedan GAZ-31 fell over the precipice in Sughd’s Ayni district.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Interior (MoI), the accident took place in the area of the 137th kilometer of highway from Dushanbe to Khujand.
“The driver probably could not control the car and it went over the precipice,” said the source, “The driver and two passengers died and two other passengers received various injuries and were taken to the central district hospital in Ayni.”
Another fatal accident took place yesterday near the village of Sebiston in Khatlon’s Danghara district, were three children were buried by a landslide. “One of them managed to get out of the slurry and informed adults of the accident; unfortunately, they could not rescue the remaining two boys aged 7 and 9,” the source said.
