Eleven people were killed and four others injured on July 2 as two cars collided head-on in Faizobod district, about 60 kilometers east of Dushanbe, according to the Interior Ministry’s official website.
The accident took place near the village of Shakhtaliyon at about 8:40 pm local time.
Opel-Astra driven by Mahmadsodiq Ibodzoda, 30, heading the city of Roghun went into oncoming traffic and collided Opel-Vectra, driven by a 19-year-old Bobojon Sharipov.
As a result of the collision, Opel Vectra diver Sharipov and his five passengers as well as five passengers of Opel-Astra died on the spot.
Opel-Astra driver Ibodzoda and three his passengers sustained various injuries and were taken to a hospital.
The cause of the accident is under investigation.
