DUSHANBE, March 28, 2011, Asia-Plus -- On the sidelines of World Navrouz Festival that took place in the Iranian capital on March 27, President Emomali Rahmon held talks with Turkmen counterpart Gurbanguly Berdymukhammedov.
According to Tajik presidential press service, the two discussed state and prospects of further expansion of bilateral cooperation between Tajikistan and Turkmenistan in culture, science, transportation, energy and industry.
On the same day, Rahmon met with Afghan President Hamid Karzai. During the meeting, Tajik leader pointed to the necessity of intensification of work of Tajik-Afghan commission for trade and economic cooperation and acceleration of implementation of regional projects in transportation and energy.
Both sides agreed that it is necessary to speed up work on signing of an interstate transit agreement with participation of neighboring countries, the presidential press service said.
