Tajikistan's Ambassador to the Islamic Republic of Iran  Nizomuddin Zohedi says the bilateral trade between Tajikistan and Iran has reached 270 million US dollars.

IRNA says Tajik diplomat made the remarks on September 15 at a meeting with Yaghoub Ali Nazari, the Governor General of Iran’s Razavi Khorasan Province.

According to him, the two-side trade between Tajikistan and Iran has increased by 213 million US dollars over the past five years, reaching 270 million US dollars by the end of March this year.

Over the past few years, the volume of trade exchanges between the two countries has increased significantly, Tajik envoy said.

For his part, Yaghoub Ali Nazari said that cultural commonalities between Iran and Tajikistan should be considered to expand trade exchanges.

He went on to say that trade exchanges between the two countries are on an upward trajectory.

Khorasan Razavi province enjoys requirements to host exhibitions, Iranian official added.

Razavi Khorasan province is one of the 31 provinces of Iran, located in northeastern Iran.  Its capital is the city of Mashhad, the second-most-populous city in Iran.

Razavi Khorasan is one of the three provinces that were created after the division of Khorasan Province in 2004.  In 2014, it was placed in Region 5 with Mashhad as the location of the region's secretariat.

This province contains many historical and natural attractions, such as mineral water springs, small lakes, recreational areas, caves and protected regions, and various hiking areas.

Besides these, Khorasan encompasses numerous religious buildings and places of pilgrimage, including the shrine of Imam Reza, Goharshad mosque and many other mausoleums and Imamzadehs which attract visitors to this province.
