DUSHANBE, December 22, Asia-Plus - Tajik President Emomali Rahmonov today morning sent a telegram of condolences to the interim President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdymukhammedov over the death of Turkmenistan’s leader Saparmurat Niyazov, presidential press service reported.
The telegram, in particular, says “Saparmurat Niyazov was known in Tajikistan as prominent representative of the Turkmen people who headed the country during the most important period of this life.”
President Rahmonov noted that Saparmurat Niyazov had been consistent supporter of expansion of bilateral cooperation between Turkmenistan and Tajikistan and as leader of one of guarantor countries had made contribution to reestablishment of peace and national accord in Tajikistan.
