DUSHANBE, January 31, Asia-Plus - By interior minister’s order Fattoh Saidov, who had previously been chief of the visa and registration department of the Ministry of Interior (MoI), was appointed to head the Dushanbe police directorate, replacing Sharif Nazarov in this position.
Sharif Nazarov was appointed Deputy Interior Minister.
Rauf Yusupov, who had previously served with the Sughd police directorate, and Abdujabbor Shamsov, formerly deputy of the Majlisi Namoyandagon (Tajikistan’s lower chamber of parliament), were also appointed deputy ministers of interior.
Besides, Shodibek Rajabov, who had previously headed the Khatlon traffic police directorate, was appointed chief of Tajik traffic police.
As a result of a drastic government reorganization ordered by President Rahmonov last November the Labor Ministry’s duty on resolving illegal migration problems folded into the MoI. Murodali Mahmadov was appointed to head the department for combating illegal migration that had been established at the MoI public order directorate.
