DUSHANBE, February 9, Asia-Plus - President Emomali Rahmonov yesterday met in Damascus with Tajik students studying at theological and secular educational institutions in Syria.
Abdufattoh Sharipov, a spokesman for the Tajik president, noted that during the meeting Rahmonov had noted that one of goals of his official visit to Syria is, in particular, to promote creation of favorable conditions for Tajik students studying abroad.
“The head of state seconded proposal of students on providing necessary conditions for them to study Arabic and other languages and gave appropriate commissions to Tajik officials accompanying him on the visit,” said Sharipov, “The president stressed that each student, each Tajik citizen staying abroad is under protection and care of the government.”
According to the spokesman, more than 50 students are currently studying at higher educational institutions in Syria.
