DUSHANBE, July 28, 2009, Asia-Plus -- A July 27 government meeting, presided over by President Emomali Rahmon, considered more than 50 issues related to socioeconomic development of the country, according to presidential press service.
The session, in particular, seconded the proposal on transferring the administrative center of GBAO’s Shugnan district from the city of Khorog to the village of Midenshor in the Porshnev jamoat, Shugnan district.
The session also considered and endorsed bills requiring amendments to the country’s laws on precious metals and precious stones as well as police search operations. The bills were submitted or consideration to the Majlisi Namoyandagon (Tajikistan’s lower chamber of parliament).
They also endorsed a financial agreement between Tajikistan and the World Bank on provision of additional grant of US$40 million to the Community and Basic Health Project, two agreements on trade-economic, industrial and technical cooperation with Italy and Mongolia and a number of other documents.
