DUSHANBE, June 3, 2013, Asia-Plus -- Tajik migration service agency head, Safiallo Devonayev, will attend the next session of the Council of Heads of Migration Bodies of the CIS Member Nations that will take place in Troitsk, Russia on June 6.
Ibrohim Ahmadov, a spokesman of Tajik migration service agency’s office in Russia, says the council is expected to consider issues related to joint efforts to counter illegal migration, training of personnel for migration bodies as well as preparation of bilateral agreements on implementation of general principles and mechanisms of regulation of labor migration within the CIS area.
“Besides, Devonayev will deliver a statement at a conference entitled “Labor Migration as Factor of Development of the CIS that will take place in Moscow on June 5,” Ahmadov noted.
Organized by the International Organization for Migration (IOM) and the CIS Executive Committee, this conference is a preparatory meeting for the 2013 High-level Dialogue on International Migration and Development (HLD) that is expected to take place in New York from October 3-4 this year, the spokesman added.
The 2013 HLD is an important opportunity to improve the governance of migration – in particular as regards the protection of the human rights of all migrants; perceptions of migrants and migration; and reflection of migration in national and global development agendas.
