DUSHANBE, August 10, 2013, Asia-Plus -- The issue of setting up the water resources market in Central Asia may be brought to Central Asian countries’ attention in the future.
First Deputy Minister of Land Reclamation and Water Resources of Tajikistan, Sulton Rahimov, stated this at a briefing in Dushanbe on August 9.
“For this it is necessary to develop an efficient mechanism of use of water resources in the region,” Tajik official noted.
“Since current water cooperation between the countries of the region is not at proper level, the countries have not yet got the benefits they might have got,” said the deputy minister. “Moreover, water problems have caused certain damage to our countries.”
