The second lab for implementation of COVID diagnostic test has been launched in the Tajik northern province of Sughd.  The lab has been launched at the central district hospital in the launched in the Bobojon-Ghafourov district, according to the Sughd government press center.  

The equipment for the lab has reportedly been delivered from Russia and it is able to carry out up to 200 PRC-based tests daily. 

Recall, the first lab for implementing COVID diagnostic test opened at the Sughd Center for Sanitary and Epidemiological Supervision in Khujand on May 28. 

According to the Republican Commission for Prevention of the Further Spread of COVID-19, four labs for implementing COVID diagnostic test functioning in Dushanbe carried out more than 15,600 PRC-based tests last month alone.  

Two virology labs opened in the Khatlon provinces last month – in the cities of Bokhtar and Kulob.  The Bokhtar-based lab reportedly serves 14 districts and cities in the province and it carries out 150-200 PRC-based tests daily. 

Prime Minister Qohir Rasoulzoda ordered to open the labs for implementing COVID diagnostic test in all large cities and districts of the country as soon as possible, according to the Health Ministry press center.
