They complain about illegal extortions when receiving a document for international cargo transportation.

More than 50 truck drivers gathered yesterday, September 23, in front of the Ministry of Transport of Tajikistan, complaining about illegal extortions when receiving a document for international cargo transportation.

Drivers who are engaged in cargo transportation from neighboring Uzbekistan are indignant that the cost of the so-called "permit" has been raised almost sevenfold - from $ 60 to $ 400.

A permit (jargon) is a two-sided authorization document that gives the driver the right to transport goods from another country.

Ministry of Transport promises to sort it out

The transport department reported that the responsible persons received and talked with the carriers, began checking the reliability of the illegal actions they are talking about.

The ministry noted that this document is issued by the State Service for Supervision and Regulation in the field of transport for the circulation of cargo carriers through logistics companies.

The Ministry of Transport explained that the aforementioned document costs only 84 somoni ($ 7.5), not $ 60, and even less $ 400.

It is expected that the leadership of the transport department will gather all parties, including logistics companies, and discuss this issue.

«If it turns out that there were any illegal extortions, other bodies will take over the case», - added at the Ministry of Transport.
