On December 1, the International Judo Federation (IJF) released its updated world rankings, and Tajikistan's judo athletes continue to hold strong positions. Five Tajik judokas are ranked in the top-10 of their respective weight categories, with an additional nine athletes in the top-25.

 

Emomali Nourali leads Tajik judo

Emomali Nourali is the top-ranked Tajik judoka, holding second place in the men's 66 kg category with 4,716 points. The first place in this category is held by Japan's Takeshi Takeoka with 5,380 points.

This year, Emomali Norali won a silver medal at the Judo World Championship in Budapest, a bronze at the Asian Judo Championship, and a gold medal at the Dushanbe Grand Slam 2025.

 

Obid Jebov and other Tajik athletes in top rankings

In the same 66 kg category, Obid Jebov is ranked third with 4,216 points. Jebov earned a bronze medal at the World Judo Championship in Budapest this year.

In the men's heavyweight category (+100 kg), Temur Rahimov is ranked third with 4,245 points.

The top two positions in this weight class are held by Russia's Inal Tasoyev with 5,750 points and Georgia's Guram Tushishvili with 4,717 points.

This season, Rahimov claimed a bronze medal at the Judo World Championship in Hungary, a bronze at the Asian Championship, gold at the Dushanbe Grand Slam 2025, and silver at the Islamic Games.

 

Other notable rankings

Somon Mahmadbekov is ranked sixth in the men’s 81 kg category with 3,537 points, while Russia’s Temur Arbuza is in first place with 5,955 points.

Jahongir Majidov is ranked ninth in the men’s 100 kg category with 3,925 points.

 

Tajik athletes in the global top 25

Other Tajik athletes ranked in the IJF World Ranking include:

·         Abubakr Sherov (-73 kg) in 10th place with 3,185 points,

·         Muhiddin Asadulloyev (-73 kg) in 12th place with 2,955 points,

·         Mehrzod Sufiyev (-60 kg) in 21st place with 1,778 points,

  • Muhammadsoleh Quvvatov (-60 kg) in 23rd place with 1,673 points,

Meanwhile, Masoud Ahmadzod (-73 kg) is in 33rd place with 1,272 points, Behrouz Khojazoda (-73 kg) is in 40th place with 1,025 points, and Karamatullo Hakimov (-100 kg) is in 58th place with 678 points.

 

Women’s judo rankings

Tajik female judokas have also entered the global rankings. Among them are:

·         Alexandra Kan (-57 kg) in 56th place with 770 points,

·         Madina Qurbonzoda (-52 kg) in 65th place with 601 points,

·         Ahliya Muminova (-48 kg) in 87th place with 370 points,

·         Victoria Kiselyova (+78 kg) in 88th place with 307 points,

·         Zuhal Jumayeva (-52 kg) in 107th place with 260 points.

Tajikistan's judo athletes continue to showcase impressive performances on the global stage, maintaining strong positions in the IJF World Ranking as they head into future international competitions.
