DUSHANBE, August 8, 2008, Asia-Plus - President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbaev met with President of the People’s Republic of China Hu Jintao on August 7, reported Kazinform with reference to President''s press office.
Nursultan Nazarbaev congratulated Chinese Leader on opening of the XIX Summer Olympic Games. Head of the State noted that his visit to Beijing demonstrates Kazakhstan support to the Beijing Olympics and Kazakh athletes.
President Nazarbaev stated that Kazakhstan is against of politicization of the Olympic Games and expressed confidence that 2008 Olympics will become one of the most colorful and unforgettable events in the history of sport.
Chinese President expressed gratitude to his Kazakh counterpart for kind wishes and for high level of holding Olympic torch relay in Almaty.
“We know You as a good friend of the Chinese people and we wish success to Kazakhstan sportsmen”, Chinese Leader said.
Nazarbaev expressed hope that Kazakh sportsmen will achieve high results on hospitable Chinese land.
Kazakh sportsmen won 132 licenses in 22 kinds of sport. Kazakh women’s teams in handball and volleyball will participate for the first time in the Games.
