The delegations of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan met in Almaty on September 18-19 to discuss energy, agriculture and water issues, reported press service of the Kyrgyz Ministry of Industry, Energy and Fuel Resources.
The similar meeting took place on September 9-10 with participation of representatives of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan.
The attendees of the meeting discussed reciprocal supplies of natural gas, heating oil, coal, electricity during autumn and winter 2008/2009.
Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan asked Turkmenistan to mull over possibility to supply up to 1 billion kWh of electricity to Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan from the fourth quarter of 2008 until the first quarter of 2009. Kazakhstan will consider possibility of supply of up to 250 million kWh of electricity in the fourth quarter of 2008 nad the first quarter of 2009.
Uzbekistan is asked to make arrangements so that natural gas will be supplied to Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan according to the timelines specified by agreements. Uzbekistan is also to consider additional supply of 250 million cubic meters of natural gas to Bishkek central heating and power plant in the 4th quarter of 2008 and the 1st quarter of 2009.
