Today at a joint business forum in Delhi Nursultan Nazarbaev, Kazakh President called Indian businessmen to invest in Kazakhstan. In particular, he talked about investments in IT-technologies, pharmacy, metallurgy, chemical industry and agriculture.
According to President, Kazakhstan is the largest partner of India in the Central Asian region.
“The goods turnover between two countries rose three times over 2008 and made US$ 300 million. This is not a high index, but we have good potential,” Nazarbaev noted. Kazakh President informed businessmen about important agreements in oil and nuclear energy spheres concluded upon completion of the talks with President of India and members of the Government. “India and Kazakhstan are not only friendly states, they become strategic partners in economic cooperation,” President stressed.
According to Nazarbaev cooperation in establishment of new productions and transfer of technologies should be activated. “India ranks the second in manufacture of pharmaceuticals. Kazakhstan annually imports medicaments worth US$ 500 million and we are interested in construction of such factories in our country,” he highlighted.
Nazarbaev expressed readiness for attraction of Indian business to processing sphere, agriculture, chemical industry and metallurgy.
Kazakh President also invited India’s IT-companies to work in Kazakhstan having reminded about a recently established Information Technologies Park near Almaty.
