DUSHANBE, April 21, Asia-Plus -- Tajik free-style wrestler Vitaly Koryakin has qualified for Beijing Olympics, bringing a total number of Tajik athletes having qualified for the 29th Summer Olympic Games in Beijing.
According to Tajikistan’s National Olympic Committee (NOC), Vitaly Koryakin qualified for the Beijing Olympic Games yesterday, finishing third in -60 kg category in an international tournament in Switzerland.
We will recall that ten Tajik athletes, including Dilshod Nazarov (hammer throwing), Galina Mityayeva (track and field athletics), Rasoul Boqiyev (judo), Yusuf Abdusalomov (free-style wrestling), boxers Anvar Yunusov, Jahon Qurbonov and Sherali Dostiyev, swimmers Yekaterina Izmaylova and Alisher Chingizov, and female archer Albina Kamolitdinova have also qualified for the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing.
