Visiting Turkey’s State Minister meets with Tajik PM to discuss cooperation issues

, June 30, Asia-Plus - On Thursday June 29, Prime Minister Oqil Oqilov received visiting
Turkey
’s State Minister Bashir Atalay (phonetically spelled).
According to information from the prime minister’s office, their talks focused on state and prospects of further expansion of bilateral cooperation between
Tajikistan
and
Turkey
.
In the course of the talks Oqilov briefed the Turkish official on socioeconomic situation in
Tajikistan
and business and investment environment in the republic.
During the meeting it was noted that a trade turnover between
Tajikistan
and
Turkey
was increasing and Turkey International Cooperation Agency (TICA) was actively working in
Tajikistan
on implementation of various projects in the filed of economy, technologies, infrastructure, culture and education.
For his part, Mr. Atalay pointed out a successful expansion of cooperation between the two countries, stable development of
Tajikistan
, and growth in its macroeconomic indices.
The two noted that all conditions necessary for expansion of mutually beneficial cooperation had been established, according to the source. The meeting also focused on cooperation in the area of tourism, agriculture, as well as construction of hotels not only in
Dushanbe
but also in Khujand and Kulob.
The Turkish side was proposed to take part in enhancement of infrastructure in
Tajikistan
and open shopping center “Ramstor” in
Dushanbe
, the source said. The Tajik side also offered to consider the possibility of opening a center for training personnel for Tajik services sector.
