DUSHANBE, November 15, Asia-Plus - According to the State Committee for Statistics, based on current data, the gross domestic product for January-October 2006 has been 7,496,862,800 somonis (equivalent to more than US$2.21 billion), which is 7.1 percent more compared to the same period of last year in comparable prices.
Over the past ten months, Tajikistan has produced a total of 3.6564 billion somonis worth of industrial goods. Compared to January-October 2005 the index of the volume of production of industrial goods has amounted to 106 percent.
Over the same ten-month period, of 686 enterprises, 399 (58.2 percent) have exceeded the January-October 2005 production level. In January-October 2006, there were 211 enterprises, or 30.8 percent of the overall number, that were not in operation.
Enterprises subordinate to the Ministry of Industry have produced more than 315 million somonis’ worth of goods over the same ten-month period, which is 4 percent more compared to January-October 2005.
Over the past ten months, gross agricultural product from all categories of farms has amounted to 3.04211 billion somonis and increased by 5.9 percent compared to January-October 2005.
Enterprises subordinate to the Ministry of Agriculture have produced 441.8 million somonis’ worth of agricultural product, which is 0.8 percent fewer than in the first ten months of last year.
