KHUJAND, August 7, 2008, Asia-Plus -- The Konibodom open joint-stock company (OJSC) Bodom has cut delivery of spare parts for cars to the Russian Federation, Asia-Plus has learned from the Bodom director general Ravshanbek Turumov.
According to him, the company has manufactured a total of more than 1 million somonis worth of products, including 761,000 somonis worth of spare parts, since the beginning of this year.
This year, the company has shipped spare parts for 300,000 somonis to Russia’s cities of Nizhny Novgorod and Naberezhnye Chelny, the director general said.
“We have cut spare part shipments to these cities for two reasons: firstly, cost of our products has increased as a result of rising power prices; and secondly, demand for our spare parts has decreased in Russia, because there are intended for old type vehicles,” said Turumov, “Therefore, we have to organize production of other outputs. Thus, we have started manufacturing pare parts for agricultural machines to meet requirements of the domestic market.”
