Within the Integrated Rural Development Project/ TRIGGER, the European Union supported a delegation from Tajikistan on a five-day study tour to Baku, Azerbaijan.
Representatives of Tajikistan ministries and agencies, including the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade, the Ministry of Agriculture, the Ministry of Industry and New Technologies and the Export Agency participated in the study tour.
The purpose of this study tour was to get acquainted with Azerbaijan's experience in the field of promotion of export of agricultural goods, logistics, diversification, standardization and certification of export products, establishment of joint ventures and export centers, assisting in the implementation of indicators of the State Export Development Programme of the Republic of Tajikistan for 2021-2025.
It is important to note that within the framework of the study tour, the Export Agency under the Government of the Tajikistan and AZPROMO signed documents (agreements/memorandum) in the field of promoting exports of agricultural goods, in accordance with the instruction of the Executive Office of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan dated July 11, 2024.
During the visit, the Tajik delegation members learnt about the experience of “Absheron Logistics”, “Balhurma”, “Crispa Snacks LLC”, “Absheron Saffron LTD”, “Azersun Holding”, etc. The participants to got acquainted with the work of Azerbaijani companies on processing of agricultural commodities before storage and their logistics to international and regional markets.
The Integrated Rural Development Project (IRDP)/ Towards Rural Inclusive Growth and Economic Resilience (TRIGGER) is a joint project of the European Union and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) implemented by GIZ to boost the added value of agricultural production in Tajikistan by improving water security and sustainability, enhancing the productivity of selected value chains, supporting market development, export readiness, enterprise promotion and economic policy advice.
