Eight people were killed in two traffic accident that took place in Tajikistan on July 2. 

Daewoo Nexia (number plate 40H174 GB uz) moving from Khujand to Dushanbe made a head-on collision with a heavy truck KamAZ truck in Varzob district, according to the Emergencies Committee under the Government of Tajikistan.

The accident took place in the afternoon.  As a result of the collision, Daewoo Nexia driver and his two passengers died on the spot.  All of them are nationals of Uzbekistan.  


The cause of the accident is under investigation

Another fatal traffic accident took place on the same day in Ayni district of Suhgd province.

The accident reportedly took place near the village of Shavdki Poyon (Lower Shavdk) at around 4:50 pm.  The 32-yer-old resident of this village lost control of his Musso and the car fell into a 450-meter abyss.

The driver and his four passengers – all of them are members of one family, including husband and wife and their three children 2, 5 and 7 years old – died on the spot.


The cause of the accident is under investigation.  

This is already the second traffic accident with a large number of victims in recent days.  Seven people were killed in a traffic accident that occurred on the outskirts of the city of Kulob on June 27.  

The Interior Ministry’s official website says the accident took place in the evening.  The 27-year-old Bobojon Zoirov lost control of his Opel-Astra and collided with another Opel-Astra driven by 24-year-old Umarjon Latifov. 

As a result of the collision, Umarjon Latifov and his five passengers, including three children 13, 10 and 5 years old, died on the spot.  Another passenger of this car – the 18-year-old Nasimjon Ramazoni – died from his injuries later in hospital    

The diver of another Opel-Astra and his three passengers sustained various injuries and were hospitalized.
