KULOB, March 3, 2009, Asia-Plus -- The Kulob prosecutor’s office has instituted criminal proceedings against Nematullo Ghoibov, the head of a faming unit in the Kulob district.
Speaking in an interview with Asia-Plus, the deputy Khatlon prosecutor in charge of the Kulob region, Alfatoh Roziqov, said that Ghoibov faced charges of illegal receipt of loan, evasion of repayment of loan debts and document fraud.
Using counterfeit documents, Ghoibov on February 4, 2008 received 280,000 somoni in loan from one of Kulob banks for allegedly growing cotton on 100 hectares, while his farming unit has only 52 hectares of lands and only 23 hectares of them are under cotton, the deputy prosecutor said.
“The preliminary investigation has established that Ghoibov misappropriated at least 30,000 somoni,” Roziqov said.
