KHUJAND, April 3, 2009, Asia-Plus -- More than 60 tons of mineral fertilizers have been smuggled into the Tajik northern province of Sughd from neighboring Uzbekistan, according to the Sughd customs service.
“More than 60 tons of mineral fertilizers worth 35,000 somoni have been smuggled into the province out of Uzbekistan over the past four days,” the source at the Sughd customs service said.
According to him, criminal proceedings have been instituted on administrative infringement charges and offenders have been fined 15,000 somoni.
