KHUJAND, February 22, 2010, Asia-Plus -- Akmal Kholboyev, a bailiff from the city court in Istaravshan, Sughd province has been detained by local anticorruption officers on suspicion of having been involved in corruption.
According to the Sughd anticorruption directorate, the preliminary investigation has established that Kholboyev took a total of 2,000 somoni from local resident, F.O., for not executing the Istaravshan court’s decision on repayment of a loan taken by F.O. from local branch of Agroinvestbonk.
Criminal proceedings have been instituted against the corrupt bailiff under the provisions of Article 319, Part 1 (bribe taking) and an investigation is under way.
