On Wednesday July 14, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan Sirojiddin Muhriddin met here with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan Mohammad Hanif Atmar on the sidelines of the SCO-Afghanistan Contact Group meeting.
According to the Tajik MFA information department, the two discussed the situation in the region and Afghanistan, the process of inter-Afghan negotiations, bilateral cooperation between Tajikistan and Afghanistan in various fields.
The parties reportedly noted that the joint fight against terrorism, extremism and drug trafficking is an important area of cooperation between the two countries.
It was emphasized that in today's difficult conditions Tajikistan provides support to the brotherly people of Afghanistan.
Tajikistan and Afghanistan are successfully cooperating within the framework of international and regional organizations such as the UN, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and others.
The parties expressed satisfaction with the high level of political relations between the two countries.
