Rahmonov orders to start preparations for construction of Sangtuda-2 station in Tajikistan

DUSHANBE
, January 24, Asia-Plus - President Rahmonov presided over a meeting of the government on January 23.
According to presidential press service, Rahmonov ordered all relevant ministries and organizations to make necessary preparations for the beginning of the construction of Sangtuda-2 hydropower plant in
Tajikistan
set for February 20.
During the meeting Rahmonov also urged to make preparations for the construction of a net of five-star hotels in
Dushanbe
, which will be built under financial support of
Turkey
and the Aga Khan Foundation, presidential press service reported.
Head of state also demanded at the meeting that all the adequate measures should be taken to provide the population with natural gas and electricity in the winter period.
The meeting also focused on the issues related to the construction of cotton-ginning factory with capacity of production of 8,000 tons of cotton fiber a year in
Dushanbe
and Tajik-Turkish joint venture on processing precious stones as well as training of personnel for
Tajikistan
in
Turkey
in
Iran
.
At the conclusion, the president also ordered to take measures to ensure holding of celebrations to mark the 15
th
anniversary of
Tajikistan
’s
Independence
and the 2700
th
anniversary of Kulob at high level.
The Majlisi Milli (
Tajikistan
’s upper chamber of parliament) also
Dushanbe
mayor Mahmadsaid Ubaidulloyev, Prime Minister Oqil Oqilov, Deputy Prime Ministers Asadullo Ghulomov and Khayrinisso Mavlonova, as well as heads of ministries of economy, labor, energy, industry and culture attended the meeting.
