DUSHANBE, May 19, Asia-Plus -- President Emomali Rahmon today met with senior representatives of President’s Executive Office to dsicuss a progress of the implementation of instructions given by him at meetings with local administrators of the Khatlon province, districts subordinate to the center (RRPs) and the Sughd province, according to presidential press service.
Speaking at the meeting, president noted that regional administrators should prepare plans for implementation of the instructions and take under their own control rational use of irrigated lands and filling markets with domestic food products.
During the meeting, it was noted that president’s appeal for taking measures to ensure food security is being successfully implemented and prices of some basic food products have decreased, presidential press service said.
Relevant bodies have been charged to take measures to provide implementation of agreements reached during President Rahmon’s visit to Kazakhstan and recent Kyrgyzstan’s President Kurmanbek Bakiyev to Tajikistan.
The meeting also discussed issues related to preparations for holding a summit meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) in Dushanbe in August.
